Pest Control Chemical Spraying

Judging alone by the testing and licensing standards set forth by the government, it goes without saying how important liability insurance is.  Not only for the business owner, but for the applicator as well.  It’s not safe to assume that you are covered under your employer’s policy and can’t be named personally in a law suit.  Knowing how you are covered and how you’re not is the key to protecting yourself from legal liability.  Coverage differs greatly in insurance, but especially in this field. A lot depends on what applications you use and how much you use them.  Do you specialize in a couple of areas, or span applications across all areas?  Knowing your chemicals, the potential for harm and mix rates can be confusing at times.  If you’ve had a rough claim history with loss’s you may have a hard time even getting insured, which means you are suddenly out of business.  If you start to get claims make sure your carrier has the resources and is willing to work with you to prevent future claims that will most certainly raise your premiums or cause forced cancellation.  Also, make sure that they will fight frivolous claims and not just pay them out to get them to go away quickly.  Frivolous payouts open the door wide open for more frivolous claims and people looking for an easy payday.  Knowing your insurance coverage and carrier may seem like a time consuming and tedious task, but trust me, it’s well worth your time.  Once you get knowledgeable about your insurance you will know what your risks are and how you can avoid them.  Without knowledge you are setting yourself up to run straight into potholes that you can’t see.  By shedding a little light you can help foresee and avoid them.  If you’re not sure about your insurance or coverage, pick up the phone and start asking questions.  And ask every possible question there is!  Policy premiums are frequently a direct indication of how good your insurance and coverage is.  You usually get what you pay for in life, and insurance is no different.  If you have questions and don’t know who to call, call me.
